Beth turns 3 today!
Her big present (and the present for Sarah & Laura) was the disney trip. we're having a small family gathering this weekend for her though.
I was just reading up on some other folks who, like creationists, are looney. I suppose if you go the creation route it isn't that hard to take the next step to saying the earth is the center of the universe, and another step beyond that to the earth is flat. sigh. Its 2009. We're never going to get hover cars.
I got the bug. started last night. I was a mess most of today.
Poor Sarah, while not puking, is still not recovered. Poor girl!
We had some homework sent home for her though.
And this marks [as of 6:37pm] the first time I've had a sick day
where I didn't actually work. I suppose chewing out my boss
over that and other things helped. I mean, I've had to work
while stopping every few minutes to puke. Its just all kinds of
awesome... and in those situations your brain doesn't work so hot.
Lousy sales weenies wanting stuff for demos for big clients. jerks.
At least I have brian now to handle some of the problems.
We've got a stomache bug making its rounds through the girls.
They were up a lot last night, Paula slept through it all. I probably got a couple hours sleep. But the girls seem ok this morning. I'm wondering if I'll get it.
The other problem is last night I went to retrieve something from my pocket. I missed. One of the rivets on my jeans pocket went up and under my thumbnail. its been incredibly painful since :( I'm trying to suck it up.
back to work
Hopefully this storm I just found out about won't mess with Paula & The Girls' flight.
For those of you keeping score at home, a storm carrying varying amounts of snow (0-40") is scheduled to hit us this evening/night and Paula's flight gets in ~11PM in manchester. YAY.
Hopefully if it is delayed it won't be by that much. but it is what it is. Sarah is most certainly not going to school tomorrow. Thats for sure.
So, I shall take a break of watching my movie and go put the seat back in the van.
Also, Amesbury sports park's snowtubing is vastly superior to Nashoba. However, my knees hurt a bit, and I have a nice welt where I landed on my keys (after which, I moved them).
I had fried clams. They were good.
this thing I've gotta do today is a bad idea, imho. It would make your head explode to explain it, needless to say, the carrot of a fun interesting project is still dangling just in front of me, forever out of my grasp.
Come on down to oscars pinatas tonight (rt38 in tewks) - we're playing at 9.
It'll be superduper.
I'm tired of always fixing all the hard stuff.
Anytime someone runs into a tricky problem its my job to fix it.
Once in a while it would be nice if they'd sit down, tear shit apart and figure it out
whine whine bitch bitch
I suppose this is part of what I get paid for. But its been like this for nearly all my professional life. What was worse was at Lycos when they'd hand me something and say "Brazil wants us to run this, so you need to figure out how to make it work, ok? Oh yeah, there are no docs in english and they will not help us with anything because otherwise 'we will not learn'".. ... shudder...
I wish I didn't have to change gears so often at work.
I can't get more than a few minutes of work in on something before I have to shift gears to fix some other stupid ass thing. Its really very annoying and demotivating. At least after years of this my brain is somewhat adept at it.
Saw slumdog millionaire last night. It was good.
Tonight I shall do some sanding and taxes and perhaps watch hellboy 2. (I really enjoyed hellboy 1)
The girls & paula are having a blast in disney.
Gotta get up at 2:30 to get Paula and the girls to the airport for their trip to disney (they've got an early flight and are going out of manchester)
I'm staying home and working (Bah!)
Come on down to Pinatas friday 9pm to see the band.
